The objective of this program is for participants to develop knowledge and skills related to the function of a WHS/OHS Committee and how to work effectively to help drive WHS/OHS outcomes and implement relevant WHS/OHS requirements.
Ideally workplaces should have a joint health and safety committee, established under Section 72 of the 2004 OHS Act. A WHS/OHS committee is a useful way of establishing a forum for communication between workers and management on health and safety issues.
