The objective of this program is for participants to develop knowledge and skills related to the function of a WHS/OHS Committee and how to work effectively to help drive WHS/OHS outcomes and implement relevant WHS/OHS requirements. Ideally workplaces should have a joint health and safety committee, established under Section 72 of the 2004 OHS Act. A WHS/OHS committee is a useful way of establishing a forum for communication between workers and management on health and safety issues. Please note during the COVID-19 Pandemic, this course will be conducted via Zoom online.
Who should attend?Any WHS/OHS Committee members or Manager / Supervisor, Human Resources personnel with in interest in understanding more about WHS/OHS Committee.
Course contentThis half day (3 hours) course content will cover the following:
- Overview of relevant WHS/OHS Legislation
- Roles and Responsibilities of WHS/OHS Committee Members
- Working as an effective WHS/OHS committee
- Hazard Identification and Risk Management
- Consultation and communication
- Incident Investigation
- Setting action plans
