Recovre Corp Psych offers the services of Neuropsychological assessments which are specialist assessments designed to assess cognitive functioning and identify the possible site of impairment of individuals who have sustained a significant head injury.
Based on the findings of the assessment, appropriate recommendations can be made to assist the individual in learning to cope with their difficulties, or in some cases to overcome them.
What is involved in the assessment?
Recovre Corp Psych’s Neuropsychological assessment will be conducted by qualified Clinical Psychologist or Neuropsychologist. The assessment initially involves a thorough clinical interview with the injured person as well as review of relevant supporting documentation such as medical investigations and vocational reports. Thorough objective testing is then undertaken with the individual to investigate such things as intellectual functioning, memory and executive functioning processes. The length of the assessment varies, however typical assessment times range between 4 to 6 hours.
For those individuals who have sustained a significant head injury and are noticing changes in such things as thinking style, memory, attention and the like, a neuropsychological assessment can be critical in identifying underlying cognitive deficits and providing appropriate treatment recommendations maximising quality of life goals.
